What is your name?
JB Owen

What do you always find yourself saying?
Anything is possible.

If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select and why?
I would happily fly to Malaysia to spend time with Vishen Lakhaiani, the man behind Mindvalley, Omvana and Awesomeness Fest. His new thinking and ideals on business, communication, personal relationships and education are inspiring. He is constantly bringing amazing people together to manifest ways of living a better life and really making a difference on our planet.

If you were to receive any existing public award, what award would you like to win?
I’m not so much into awards… yet the best “reward” I could hope to achieve would to be at both my kids 50th birthday party and enjoy the gift of seeing them grow and become their true selves.

If you could spend a day with any historical figure, who would you choose and why?
I have always admired the heroic determination of Princess Diana. My desire to spend the day with her would be to share the love and admiration the world so deeply felt for her. I would want for her to know the amazing impact she had on so many people and how truly loved she was..

Who inspires you?
Honestly, my seven year old daughter. Every day she wakes up with a happy attitude, she loves so openly, she forgives so genuinely and when I am down or stressed, she holds my hand and says, “ Mom, I believe in you, I know you can do it”.

What are three things on your bucket list?
Sunset on Machu Picchu, Picnic in the Galapagos Islands, and Chanting with the monks in Tibet.

If you had an enormous yacht, what would you name it?

If you could foresee a single day of your future in its entirety, what date would you select?
I’d pick tomorrow, so then I would know how to best navigate the day after

What are you passionate about?
I am most passionate about inspiring women to be themselves, to bask in their magnificence and shine in their talent. To create products, events, ideas and messaging that redefines how women communicate and connect with one another so that authentic friendships, partnerships and business relations can really flourish.

What has been your favourite day of your life, up to this point?
It is hard to pick just one, but I would say that all the best days of my life have been filled with these same magical elements; a calm, peacefulness where time doesn’t exist, the heart is filled with love and camaraderie and I am being my true authentic self.

What has been your proudest accomplishment?
The birth of my children. The gift of creating life and the humble truth that I have been allowed to share with them what I know and influence who they are going to be.

Where is your favourite place to dine in Kelowna? What do you like about it?
Have to say Summer Hill Winery as it is organic, always unique, close to my home and has a great view.

What is your favourite activity or event in Kelowna? Why?
Tuesday morning meetings at BABES in Business because it draws this amazing, diverse collection of women with true hearts, generous spirits and honest to goodness caring for one another.

What is the name of your business/organization?
I have three very exciting businesses.
1) BE YOUR QUINTESSENCE, is a organization that creates transformational weekends where exceptional women who are visionaries and change makers can come together to experience breakthroughs in their personal and business lives. It is set in five star opulence, with celebrity speakers, outstanding parties and complete indulgence so female entrepreneurs and new thought leaders can come together and build their business while making significant change in the world.

2) I also manufacture LOTUS LINERS which are the most stylish and comfortable washable feminine liners on the planet. In my personal desire to make a substantial difference, I support women in using washable feminine products to reduce waste, improve their health, eliminate exposure to harmful chemicals and toxins and save thousands of dollars.
3) LOTUSTE’ with is a movement and organization designed to celebrate all women. It is about honouring womanhood, the connections women create and the individuality and uniqueness all women have. It is designed to create social programs that change the way women unfairly treat one another.

What does your business/organization do?
My businesses are created to inspire, empower and give women the freedom to be themselves. I want them to look inward and find their voice, I want them to take care of themselves and stand up for what they believe in. I want to give them the opportunities they need to become the women they desire and create products and services that foster their ultimate expansion of self.

What is your mission?
My mission is to support every women in finding her true, divine vision of herself.

If you could achieve one thing within your field, what would it be?
To create a global tribe of women who truly support one another, who want to help raise the other up and give in every way they can to grow the fiber of women-helping-women to be their quintessential selves.

Where do you want your business/organization to be in five years?
I think all women should have the choice and convenience to buy non disposable feminine products, so in five years, Lotus Liners should be on the shelves of ever major drug and grocery store.
Secondly, All schools in Canada would give every young girl in life skills class with a Lotus Liner so that she can begin her blossoming in the healthiest way possible for both her body and the planet.
At Be Your Quintessence we will be 50,000 members strong, from all around the world, supporting one another in business that create over one billion in charity donations to causes supporting other women.

Who do you consider to be a forerunner within your field?
That is yet to be determined.

What three qualities do you feel that your business/organization exemplifies?
Empowerment, inspiration and femininity.

What would you like to say to your employees/volunteers?
That they are amazing, talented, incredible and a blessing to me each and every day.

How does your business/organization impact the community?
We donate to local charities that support the development of women in need and we offer our retreat at Sparkling Hill in Kelowna so that local female visionaries can be exposed to A-list motivational speakers allowing them to creating lasting change in this community.

If you were trapped in an elevator with several wealthy investors from any field, which field would you want them to be experts in? What would say to them/talk about?
Internet marketing and E-commerce. I feel every woman the world should know about our products and have the right to use them and enjoy them. Reaching every woman in the world would be my goal.

If I could change one thing about Kelowna, it would be:
I love, love, love the lake, but I wish they had a really incredible outdoor family pool.

What do you think makes Kelowna great?
The people. I find everyone so friendly, welcoming, open and enjoying the good life. I experience so much healthy living, exercise, food and festivities, it really is paradise.. Where else can you golf and ski in the same week!

My choice for the Kelowna In Focus spotlight is:
Jenn Kyllo from BABES in Business
Sabrina Notte from Déjà vu Modelling

Some general comments I would like to share are:
We are all just wanting to be loved, wanting to be ourselves and wanting a good life. It isn’t easy in 2015 to have all that, but when we give, we get and the joy of receiving comes from the act of giving.
